Forest Management
The Bureau also provides technical direction for the Division of Forestry field units, carrying out the land management responsibilities on over 1.1 million acres of forestland in the State. In addition, the Bureau coordinates acquisition of new state forests through the CARL program and the purchase of in-holdings within existing state forests.

Forestry Assistance for Landowners
Forest HealthResponsibility for forest pest surveys, evaluations, and impact assessments, as well as providing technical assistance.
Forest HydrologyProviding technical support for protection of the State's forest water resources in association with silviculture activities, restoration planning, funding and implementation as well as permitting and other regulatory aspects of restoration and forest watershed management.
Land AcquisitionsDirects land acquisition and management planning function of state lands managed by the Division of Forestry as well as providing support functions to the Acquisition and Restoration Council and other state agencies in their efforts to acquire and manage forested timberlands.
