Proposal and Report Format

All proposals submitted to the Program should deal directly with the recovery of federally-listed plant species in Florida and should relate to the species' Recovery Plan or should explain why a non-listed species should be considered for funding.

Interim and Final Reports are to be done in the same format as the Proposal.
Each proposal should contain the information listed below.
  • Title: Title of project.
  • Need: State the problem which needs to be solved wholly or in part by this research.
  • Objectives: What is to be accomplished during the period of the project pursuant to the stated need? A project statement objective must:
  • a) Specify fully what is to be accomplished within the time, money, and staffing allocated;
    b) Specify a recognizable end point; and
    c) Be quantifiable or verifiable.
  • Expected Results or Benefits: Describe how the results will be used and how their use will resolve the need described.
  • Approach: How will the objective be attained? Include specific procedures, schedules, and, when required, key project personnel and cooperators. Number specific tasks.
  • Geographic Location: Identify where the work will be done. If the research involves field work, provide the location of the field work in addition to the location of the research facility.

  • Cost Schedule: Cost per year to attain the objective. Refer back to tasks under the approach section and assign a federal dollar amount and a match amount for each task. Note: the amounts assigned each task can be estimates.
