Long-tailed Skipper
As an avid Trailwalker Barbara Bowen snapped this fabulous photo along the Lower Wekiva Loop Trail at Seminole State Forest in Lake County, near Leesburg, Florida. The Long-tailed Skipper is hovering over a Deer Tongue wildflower; Deer Tongue is an important pollinator plant. She captured this photograph using a Cannon PowerShot SX10 IS with a shutter speed of 1/636. She was excited about the great photographs she captured as she hiked her tenth trail to complete her first level of the Trailwalker Program.
