S-404 Safety Officer Training

The Safety Officer is a member of the Incident Management Team's Command Staff. The SOF is responsible for monitoring and assessing hazardous and unsafe situations and developing measures for assuring personnel safety. The completion of this class and other requirements including S-420 and a task book is required to become a Type 2 Safety Officer. The S-420 course is not required to take this class.

Prerequisite Experience:

   Satisfactory performance as a Division/Group Supervisor (Prior completion of S-330 & S-339 is required to attend class).

Pre-Work:

   Successful completion of Pre-course work is required of nominees.
