The Division Training Coordinator is responsible for researching, planning, designing, implementing, directing, and evaluating statewide training programs for the Division of Forestry. This entails providing for general employee orientation and development; the enhancement of specialized and technical skills necessary to carry out a successful effort to protect and perpetuate Florida's forest resources, training and development of potential supervisors, and the coordination of wildland fire and prescribed fire training.

The Training Coordinator also coordinates with the Senior Management Analyst Supervisor, Assistant Director, Deputy Chiefs, and Bureau Chiefs in the development and administration of the Annual Training Plan program management procedures. This position requires that the Training Coordinator be a liaison on training requirements for the Division with the Department, and other federal and state agencies.

The Division of Forestry offers a variety of Forest Education Programs for students of all ages. This position coordinates all Forest Education Programs statewide. Several different programs specifically target elementary, middle, high school students as well as teachers to provide information about Florida's Forests. This position is also responsible for planning, developing and implementing resource management training programs for resource professionals and landowners. Additional responsibilities include coordination of prescribed fire training.

The Fire Training Officer's duties are to plan, develop, organize and implement training programs to meet certification standards for Forestry Firefighters within the State of Florida. These employees are then certified through the Florida State Fire College, the National Wildfire Coordinating Group and the National Interagency Incident Command System.

Additional responsibilities of the Fire Training Officer include the scheduling and supervision of interagency fire control training for local, state and federal agencies as well as developing and directing advanced specialized courses in fire protection and control to meet unique problems in Florida's wildland/urban areas.

The Management Training Officer is responsible for scheduling, planning, organizing and implementing Incident Command System (I.C.S.) training courses statewide. This training will be certified through the National Wildfire Coordinating Group. The Management Training Officer will work closely with the fire training officer to ensure that the need for quality fire and ICS training are met for the state of Florida.

Additional responsibilities will include the maintenance of training documentation and records, as well as coordination of the Division of Forestry's Leadership Development Program, Air Operations training, and all Department sponsored training.

The Training Facilities Manager is responsible for scheduling all activities at the Florida Center for Wildfire and Forest Resources Management Training and ensuring that the grounds and facilities are well maintained and all guests have an enjoyable stay while at the Center. This is the contact person for billing, invoice, and facilities information.
