Special Case Night Burn Areas in Florida

Nighttime burning authorizations in Florida:
Broadcast prescribed burns can be conducted at night provided that certain weather parameters are in place. You can contact your local Division of Forestry field unit office after 2:00 pm in the afternoon to see if the nighttime dispersion index is high enough to allow for burning.

The map below shows the general areas of the state where special nighttime burning is allowed. This guideline will be evaluated on a continual basis to determine how effective it is, which may result in an increase or decrease in the number of sections. Further information can be obtained from your local Division of Forestry field unit office.
